The Congressional Black Caucus Foundation will be holding its 43rd Annual Legislative Conference from September 18 to 21 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC. This year's ALC theme, It Starts With You, is a call to action to be and lead the positive change needed in public policy. ALC provides an African-American perspective on public policy with thought-provoking and educational policy forums, community education workshops and policy briefs.
The following Joint Center experts will speak at the CBCF Conference:
- Civic Engagement and Governance Institute Senior Research Fellow Michael Wenger will be a panelist for Jobs Crisis: Growth, Inequality, and Full Employment session on Thursday, September 19 at 1:30 PM.
- Dr. Wilhelmina Leigh of the Civic Engagement and Governance Institute will speak on the Empowering the Black Community through Entrepreneurship panel on Thursday, September 19 at 2 PM.
- Energy and Environment Program Director Danielle Deane will be a panelist for the Environmental Justice Braintrust session on Friday, September 20 at 10 AM.
- Media and Technology Institute Deputy Director and Senior Policy Counsel Joseph Miller will speak on the Empowering African American Communities to Improve Their Health with Broadband Technology panel on Friday, September 20 at 1:30 PM.
