Today is the one year anniversary of the passage of the Affordable Care Act and guess what? According to a recent survey, over one half of Americans don't think health reform is actually a law.

It is folks.

While that effort is unlikely to go any further for the time being, it is important to consider what repeal would mean for the largest-growing segment of the population, people of color, and for a nation that has struggled to address the mounting costs of its health care system.

Alio recently received the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention 's 2010 Young Professional Achievement Award for Maternal and Child Health Epidemiology during the 16th Annual Maternal and Child Health Epidemiology (MCH EPI) Conference held in San Antonio, TX December 15-17, 2010". Dr. Alio is the first African American and the second CPIPO member to receive this prestigious award.
