Meeting Goals
- Learn about the San Joaquin Valley Counties [SJVC] team's work and community as then relate to derminants of health inequities.
- Engage participants in a Community Based Interactive Experience [CBIE] to gain a greater understanding of issues facing residents of the SJVC and to share knowledge and strategies valuable to PLACE MATTERS Leaders.
- Develop Blueprints for advocacy and change at the community level to inform the field; resulting in a nationally disseminated publication that captures PLACE MATTERS expertise and lessons.
- Build team capacity to use blueprinting as a tool and mechanism to guide their work and communicate actionable strategies and methodology.
- Engage participants in in-depth discussion and working session to increase their understanding of community awareness, engagement, cohesion, and mobilization; the intersections of education, youth and violence; racial equity and equity; successful interaction with policy makers; and sustaining community based advocacy efforts.
- Network with colleagues and foster working relationships withing PLACE MATTERS teams.
- Provide a safe place to brainstorm new and innovative approaches.
