Sullivan Opposes Plan to Keep Menthol in Cigarettes

Dr. Louis Sullivan, chair of the Sullivan Alliance to Transform America's Health Professions, is objecting to congressional legislation that would encourage the continued use of menthol as a flavoring in cigarettes, saying it devalues the health of African Americans. Three out of four African American smokers use menthol cigarettes. The Sullivan Alliance is a part of the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies. Click here to read the letter to to Henry A.
