Founded in 1970 to encourage civic and political participation in the African American community, the Joint Center continues to support black leadership and other black policy makers by serving as a source of trusted information, innovations, and ideas on a broad range of issues. Through its scholarly research, distinctive analyses of issues, and convening of forums, the Joint Center helps guide the policy process toward practical solutions on America's most challenging issues - and toward a better future for all Americans.
