Exploring the Underlying Causes of Health Disparities

A
day-long meeting bought together about 40 health equity
advocates from leading health, public policy, and
community-based organizations. The purpose of the
meeting was to determine how to use the opportunities
created by an upcoming, ambitious documentary television
series that will explores the underlying causes of this
nation's alarming socioeconomic and racial disparities
in health.
The
four-hour series tentatively titled “HIDDEN EPIDEMIC: Is
Inequality Making Us Sick?’’ is now in production by
California Newsreel and will be broadcast by PBS next
year.
