Healthcare Links

Bureau of Primary Health Care (BPHC). BPHC’S mission is to increase access to comprehensive primary and preventive health care and to improve the health status of underserved and vulnerable populations.

Center for Health Outcomes and Policy Research at the University of Pennsylvania. Established in 1989, the Center is a research and research training enterprise focusing on the outcomes of health care and health workforce policy. The Center’s researchers study health system reorganization and policy changes and aim to produce research evidence to improve the quality of health care.

Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) is the lead Federal agency charged with improving the quality, safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of health care for all Americans. As one of 12 agencies within the Department of Health and Human Services, AHRQ supports health services research that will improve the quality of health care and promote evidence-based decision making. The site contains news, data, surveys, research findings, and information about specific populations i.e. Women, children and minorities.

National Quality Forum. A private, not-for-profit membership organization created to develop and implement a national strategy for healthcare quality measurement and reporting. The mission of the NQF is to improve American healthcare through endorsement of consensus-based national standards for measurement and public reporting of healthcare performance data that provide meaningful information about whether care is safe, timely, beneficial, patient-centered, equitable and efficient. The site contains project summaries, new on current issues and activities and a newsletter titled “Quality Healthcare, Now!”.
