Joint Center Rallies Behind President’s SOTU Address

Tomorrow evening at 9pm EST the President will deliver what is perhaps his most important State of the Union address yet. It’s an election year, the President’s approval rating is sitting solidly at 47% and he is facing the harshest of critics.

Political pundits have already begun speculating as to the major themes of the speech, and with wagers already rolling in as to the impact of tomorrow’s oration on POTUS’ November re-election prospects, Tuesday night watch parties are just as hot as those much anticipated Giants/Pats soirees set for super bowl Sunday.

The Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies, the nation’s only think tank focused on African American communities, is hosting its own watch party and round-table discussion directly following the President’s speech. When asked why the Joint Center thought it prudent to host such an event, President and CEO Ralph B. Everett, Esq., told Politic365 that “President Obama has encouraged the nation to pull together, to pitch in, and to do our part.  As a leader, partner and convener of critical thinkers, the Joint Center decided to host a State of the Union viewing and discussion to help shape solutions for a better American for everyone.”
