The Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies is a catalyst for groundbreaking research and critical policy analysis on topics of concern to all Americans, especially African Americans and other people of color. Founded in 1970 to encourage civic and political participation in the African American community, the Joint Center continues to support black leadership and other black policy makers by serving as a source of trusted information, innovations, and ideas on a broad range of issues.
