On September 27, 2004, the Joint Center Health Policy Institute
officially launched a broad initiative to curtail health disparities in
America. The initiative, Place Matters: Addressing the Root Causes of
Health Disparities, will address the social and economic conditions that
increase the incidence of diseases among minorities.
